Job summary

AmeriQual Group in Evansville, IN is seeking a Retort Operator to control retorts and ensure safe processing of food to required safety standards. You'll learn loading/unloading procedures and participate in batch and chart reviews.

You will respond promptly to alarms, complete post-retort sampling, and maintain accurate tags and logs while working in a fast-paced team environment. A High School diploma and basic math/computer skills are required, with certification opportunities provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in food manufacturing preferred.
• Better Process Control School Certification or ability to become certified.
• Strong math, mechanical and computer skills.
• Detail oriented with multitasking and priority setting.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Must maintain pace with 100% accuracy and safety.
• Strong communication and adherence to work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Train to load/unload retort vessels safely.
• Start and read circular retort charts.
• Evaluate retort event and batch summaries.
• Respond to retort alarms promptly.
• Pass quarterly training tests.
• Pull post-retort samples.
• Complete retort cage tags accurately.
