Job summary

800flowerscareers is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II in Medford, Oregon to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment. You will collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to keep equipment operating safely and with minimal downtime.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, and is willing to learn welding, fabrication, and machining in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of industrial maintenance or related experience preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience using common hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to safely operate basic shop equipment.
• Willingness to learn welding, fabrication, machining, and other maintenance skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment to minimize downtime.
• Replace and adjust bearings, motors, pumps, belts, chains, gearboxes, valves, and other mechanical components.
• Assist with equipment changeovers and production startups.
• Perform basic fabrication, welding, and equipment modifications as needed.
• Read and follow work orders, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
• Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before failures occur.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Work safely while following OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout procedures, and company food safety policies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist with emergency repairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
