Job summary

AUBERGINE KITCHEN in Idaho is seeking a part-time Food Prep worker for the early shift (6:30am–2pm), with weekends included and Sundays off. Reports to the General Manager. Pay is $16/hr for the Monday, Wednesday, and Friday schedule.

You'll prepare ingredients and maintain food safety, following FIFO and labeling standards. Aubergine provides a Food Handler Certificate within 14 days, plus employee discounts, PTO, and a referral program.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
• Restaurant or professional kitchen experience required.
• Food Handler Certificate within 14 days of hire (company-supported).

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients, sauces, and dressings per instructions and recipes—washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing with precision.
• Follow portioning guidelines to ensure consistent flavor, appearance, and quality in every batch.
• Organize and rotate all items using FIFO; label products with date and name per Aubergine's standards.
• Keep your workstation clean, organized, and compliant with food safety standards throughout the shift.
• Inform your manager immediately if a recipe, ingredient, or instruction is unclear, incorrect, or unavailable.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Ability to communicate in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
• Speed and efficiency with repetitive tasks; ability to follow instructions carefully and stay focused under pressure.
• 21+; prior experience in a restaurant or professional kitchen required.
• Completes Aubergine's onboarding and position-specific training; Food Handler Certificate within 14 days of hire (company-supported).
• Available incl. weekends/holidays (closed Sundays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, July 4th).
• Able to stand/move for extended periods, lift/push/carry up to 50 lbs, and work around heat, steam, and cold.
