We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare, and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools, are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! Responsibilities: • Adhere to COVID-19 safety protocol measures in all food preparation areas and follow all food safety guidelines in the kitchen workstations • Use the correct amounts of condiments, wash all fruits and vegetables to be peeled, diced, and sliced, slice meats, and mix a variety of sauces • Handle simple cooking tasks such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups and reducing sauces, and assisting others in the kitchen when necessary • Understand recipe instructions, measurements, meal charts, and labels written in English and use all measuring tools properly • Maintain a clean, organized prep area and workstation at all times, and sanitize equipment after each shift or when we close • Assist other cooks in the kitchen as needed with preparing simple menu items Qualifications: • Read and comprehend recipes, labels, and meal charts written in English • We’d like you to have some kitchen experience and associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent, but it’s not necessary • Have some experience prepping food and the ability to work under the head chef/cook with minor supervision • Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time, as well as lift 35 to 50 pounds, pull heavier items, and bend frequently • Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays and be willing to pitch in working extra hours at the supervisor’s request Compensation: $11 hourly
