Job summary

Butterball, LLC is seeking a production leader at the Carthage Plant to guide day-to-day operations and ensure safety, efficiency, and quality. You will implement plans to meet KPIs using Butterball OS solutions, promoting a culture of inclusivity and continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes leadership, HACCP/USDA compliance, and collaboration with support functions to optimize production layout, automation, budgeting, and cost improvements at the Carthage facility.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, plus 5+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of leadership experience or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, SOP and SSOP requirements; ability to apply concepts quickly.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day activities of a team of entry level employees and/or supervisors; provide guidance, coaching and scheduling.
• Conduct routine safety and quality audits with on-the-floor coaching.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines (USDA, OSHA, DOL, EEOC, HACCP).
• Manage manufacturing protocols, product specifications and quality guidelines.
• Promote process improvement and lean manufacturing; plan layouts, automation improvements, budgeting and cost control.
• Optimize labor and equipment usage to maximize efficiency and capacity.
• Oversee training and development; monitor KPIs like safety, efficiency, waste and downtime.
• Drive HACCP plans to meet USDA requirements and address bird-related issues.
• Lead departmental projects aligned to company goals.
