Job summary

Kar Nut Products Company in Michigan is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our food manufacturing facility. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery to keep production running efficiently while meeting food safety standards.

The position requires a strong mechanical and electrical background, with a Monday–Friday schedule 2:50pm–11pm (overtime possible). Starting compensation is $26.00–$27.00 per hour, plus a $1 shift premium.

Qualifications

Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or industrial setting.
Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and write in English proficiently.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand 8-10 hours.
Able to climb ladders and work at heights.

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on production equipment and facility systems.
Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
Respond to emergency breakdowns and restore production quickly.
Follow safety protocols including lockout/tagout.
Work with production and quality teams to maintain SQF and OSHA compliance.
Maintain records of maintenance activities, parts, and performance.
Assist in equipment installation and continuous improvement projects.
Follow GMP and food safety policies and keep area clean and safe.
