Job summary

Second Nature Brands in Michigan is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep production lines running at our Kar’s Nuts facility in Madison Heights. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical equipment in a food-manufacturing environment, with emphasis on safety and quality standards.

The Afternoon shift from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM offers regular hours with overtime as needed and a starting hourly rate of $26 plus a $1 shift premium.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.
• 2+ years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Must be able to read and write in English proficiently.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on production equipment, packaging machinery, conveyors, boilers, refrigeration systems, and other facility infrastructure.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely resolutions to maintain production efficiency.
• Follow and enforce safety protocols, including lockout/tagout.
• Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure equipment operates in compliance with SQF and OSHA Safety.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and equipment performance.
