Job summary

MSI Express, Inc is seeking a Mechanical Electrical Controls Technician to maintain and optimize electrical control systems and automation at a food manufacturing site. The role focuses on reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance, including HACCP, GMP, FDA, and USDA standards.

You will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and drives while performing preventive maintenance and supporting improvements. Collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and production teams is essential to minimize

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in controls or automation within food manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley and knowledge of Siemens/Omron controls.
• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements in regulated production.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and programming PLCs and HMIs.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, sensors, and control wiring across production and utility systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on control systems and automation equipment.
• Modify and update control logic and programming to improve performance.
• Maintain documentation including electrical schematics, program backups, and change logs.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment and control panels.
