Job summary

Worcester State University seeks Food Pantry Support Staff (Work Study) to assist in managing the campus food pantry. This in-person student role supports food distribution to students in need.

The position is on-site, 5 hours per week, with a minimum requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. Strong customer service and comfort with iPad usage are preferred. This is available to WSU students only and pays $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be familiar with using an i-Pad.
• Great Customer Service Skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide a welcoming, safe and confidential environment for students and individuals.
• Assist individuals as they enter the pantry in locating food and answer any questions they might have about the pantry's services.
• Be aware and knowledgeable of other resources and assist students in accessing those resources, including SNAP benefits.
• Inventory the amount of food that is donated, and taken out.
• Stock and replenish donated food to appropriate shelves.
• Keep pantry clean and well organized.
• Oversee volunteers around tasks related to the food pantry.
• Adhere to food pantry policies and procedures.
• Able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
