Job summary

Common Heart is seeking a Common Cupboard Manager in Indian Trail, NC to lead our warehouse-based pantry and volunteers. You’ll train and inspire a team, manage donations, inventory, vehicles, and equipment to ensure neighbors receive food support.

You will coordinate volunteers, maintain orderly operations, and collaborate with staff to run safe food distribution and events while lifting up to 60 lbs and operating related equipment.

• Detail-oriented and safety-focused in warehouse settings and records.
• Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs and operating warehouse equipment or learning to do so.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; logistics or nonprofit training is a plus.
• At least 3 years of verifiable work experience in warehouse ops, logistics, or volunteer coordination; nonprofit background preferred.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license; able to drive large vehicles like box trucks.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and coordinating volunteers to sort, pack, and distribute food.
• Driving a box truck or cargo van to collect donations (CDL not required).
• Operating warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack) or training provided.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse.
• Collaborating with staff to ensure safe food collection, storage, and distribution.
• Supporting events like the Great Turkey Countdown.
