Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a full-time front desk/pantry support role in Keokuk, IA. The position handles visitor greeting, phone routing, and client data entry, while ensuring pantry inventory is stocked and maintained.

You may assist the Social Services team with intake interviews, referrals, and vouchers, and you may serve as a back-up driver for Food Bank pickups. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, strong communication skills, and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors and direct calls to appropriate personnel

• Ensure pantry equipment is stocked and cleaned
• Attend required meetings and assist with various tasks as needed
• Sort and stock personal care items and manage pantry inventory
• Act as back-up driver for Feeding America pick up and assist Social Services Case Worker as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Summary/Primary Purpose:

Food pantry including the intake process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Greet visitors/clients in a friendly manner.
• Answer phone and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
• Secure and enter necessary client information into database.
• Ensure pantry equipment is stocked and cleaned.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Responsible for sorting and stocking personal care items.
• Serves as a backup for the Social Services Case Worker and assist clients with various needs including, but not limited to intake interviews, Client Referrals, Rent/Utility Assistance and
• Hotel Vouchers.

• This position will serve as a back-up driver for the Feeding America pick up.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

• Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.

Other Qualifications:

Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.
