Job summary

Openwork is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to perform preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance on production equipment in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment in Macon, GA. The role focuses on keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently while supporting food safety, employee safety, and product quality.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, record keeping, and collaborating with production to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment preferred.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to travel for training when required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, scheduled, and emergency maintenance on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment to minimize production downtime.
• Follow GMP, sanitation, food safety, and company procedures.
• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and sanitized before returning it to production.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Communicate equipment status and repair progress with production supervisors.
• Request parts, supplies, and technical support as needed.
• Assist with preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Train and assist production employees on proper equipment operation.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
