Job summary

American Girl Retail in Chicago is seeking a part-time Food Expeditor to engage guests professionally and support the mission of Celebrating Girls.

The role reports to the Assistant Cafe Manager and involves delivering food and beverages, assisting with parties and events, and upholding food safety standards in a child-friendly setting.

Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays is required; ServSafe certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience, preferred.
• Experience working with children, preferred.
• Impeccable customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Treat all guests with respect and provide service according to AG standards (delivering food/beverages, upselling, checking and resetting tables).
• Engage with customers with a friendly, positive demeanor in a child-friendly environment.
• Use sound judgment in challenging service situations and involve a supervisor when needed.
• Assist with parties, storewide events, stock supplies and other supervisor-directed projects.
• Follow food safety guidelines including labeling, storage, FIFO, proper temperatures, and avoiding cross-contamination.
• Understand local/state health sanitation laws and uphold company safety guidelines.
