The State of North Carolina is seeking a dedicated individual for a crucial role in the Food Distribution Division. This position involves transporting USDA foods to eligible agencies, ensuring nutritional wellbeing throughout North Carolina. The Food Distribution Division contributes to the nutritional wellbeing of the citizens of North Carolina by distributing USDA foods to eligible Recipient Agencies. Food Distribution administers six food programs for USDA.
Duties involve the transportation and delivery of USDA foods to various agencies (covers 42 counties) throughout North Carolina.
Some overnight travel is required.
Selected applicant will be subject to a reference check, driver's license check, criminal background check, and Job Ready Services Fit Test.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
Must possess a valid North Carolina driver's license (Class A CDL).
Must meet commercial driver’s license (CDL) drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds of force using a pallet jack when necessary.
Must be able to lift/stack a minimum of 50 pounds.
Must have good customer service skills and experience.
Ability to complete paperwork/data entry using a tablet or computer is desired.
MANAGEMENT PREFERENCES:
Managementprefers a minimum of 5 years of tractor trailer driving experience, and knowledge of refrigerated trailers.
You may qualify by an equivalent combination of education and experience, either through years of education or years of directly related experience, or a combination of both.
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Any employment offer may be less than the maximum of the range due to salary equity with similarly situated employees or the selected candidate's related education and experience.
