Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Greet customers in a prompt and courteous manner and thank them upon departure.
  • Determine the number in a party, accurately post transaction on cash register, and make appropriate change.
  • Seat as quickly as possible. If there is a waiting period, ensure guest always has maximum comfort.
  • Properly rotate server stations when seating guests (requires knowledge of server abilities).
  • Assist service staff in making certain tables are cleared and cleaned after each use and are set properly. Make sure all areas are clean and free of debris.
  • Fill condiments as needed.
  • Answer telephones using proper phone etiquette as described in CET standards
  • Count out cash drawer at end of shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  • Must present a neat and professional appearance.
  • Work requires attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Work requires interactions with customers, public and co-workers.
  • Work requires use of a computer and/or cash register.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondhand smoke.
  • Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance according to schedule
  • Fast paced environment, multiple tasks to be handled under time constraint.
  • Must be able to handle a heavy business volume, and sensitive situations relating to staff and guest problems, in a timely manner
