Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to optimize production processes at their Paarl facility in the Western Cape. You will collaborate with production, quality assurance, and R&D to troubleshoot issues, improve yields, and reduce costs while upholding food safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and scale-up of processing techniques. You will maintain P&ID and SOP documentation and ensure HACCP/GMP compliance, supporting new product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
• Experience with process optimization, scale-up and troubleshooting in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of food processing technologies, equipment, and quality systems.
• Familiarity with HACCP and GMP regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize food processing operations to improve efficiency, throughput, and quality.
• Develop and implement process improvements using lean and Six Sigma.
• Design and scale-up new processing techniques and equipment.
• Troubleshoot production issues and identify root causes to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with R&D and Quality Assurance to ensure food safety regulations and standards.
• Develop and maintain process documentation including P&IDs, SOPs, and batch records.
