Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Wallingford, CT seeks an Assembly Associate Team Leader to support the Assembly Team Leader in supervising Machine Operators, Assembly Expeditors, and Production Team Members. You will help assign tasks, monitor targets, and uphold safety and regulatory standards in a USDA facility.

Ideal candidates will have 18+ months in food production and at least 6 months of supervisory experience, with strong knowledge of EH&S, OSHA, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 18+ months of food production facility experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience in the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain management, EH&S, and OSHA.
• Intermediate computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Understanding of financials and P&L statements.
• Ability to work well with others, self-motivated, and capable of working independently with little supervision.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to build strong partnerships with stakeholders including Team Members, customers, suppliers, and regulators.
• Genuine passion for food and commitment to nourishing people and the planet.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the assembly team in partnership with the Assembly Team Leader.
• Supervise Machine Operators, Assembly Expeditors, and Production Team Members.
• Assist in ensuring safety and regulatory compliance within the facility.
• Assist with interviewing, training, and development of Team Members.
• Collaborate with Supervisors and TMS on Team Member relations and investigations.
• Oversee ILA, metal detection, and checkweighing activities during assembly.
• Maintain safety and security standards for Team Members.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, FSMA, FDA, and related regulations.
• Support relationships with Store Support and Facility Leadership teams.
• Work with Team Leader to resolve team concerns and promote teamwork.
