Job summary

Des Moines Embassy Suites - Atrium Hospitality in Des Moines, IA is seeking a friendly team member for a part-time breakfast and guest-services role. You will help prepare and serve breakfast, assist with an evening reception, and maintain a clean, welcoming dining area for guests.

No experience is required—training will be provided. Candidates should enjoy teamwork, be able to stand and lift up to 50 lbs, and be flexible for days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• No experience? We’ll train you.
• Restaurant or cashier experience preferred.
• Food Safety and Alcohol Awareness certifications (or willing to obtain within 60 days).
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, present, and maintain breakfast and evening reception.
• Keep buffets and service areas clean and stocked.
• Greet guests professionally and address questions quickly.
• Assist with light food prep, restocking, bussing tables, or bar/service support.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards.
• Monitor food quality and proper storage/temperature.
• Work with team to keep service running smoothly.
• Communicate updates during shift changes.
• Adhere to safety, security, and company policies.

Compensation Range : $15-$15.75

Job Description

What You Will Do:

• Set the stage for a great guest experience by preparing, presenting, and maintaining our complimentary breakfast and/or evening reception
• Keep everything clean, stocked, and guest-ready—buffets, service areas, tables, and equipment
• Greet guests with a friendly, helpful attitude and handle questions or concerns quickly and professionally
• Jump in where needed—whether that’s light food prep, restocking, bussing tables, or supporting bar/service areas
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards to ensure a safe, clean environment for guests and team members
• Monitor food quality, proper storage, and temperature standards throughout your shift
• Work as part of a team to keep service running smoothly and efficiently
• Communicate key updates during shift changes to keep everyone aligned
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies, and report any issues as needed

What We Are Looking For:

• No experience? No problem! If you have a great attitude and love teamwork, we’ll teach you the rest
• Restaurant, customer service, or cashier experience preferred
• Food Safety and Alcohol Awareness certifications (or willingness to obtain within 60 days)
