Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a 2nd shift machine operator to support packaging operations. You will assist with machine setup, monitor box quality, and help maximize equipment utilization while adhering to safety and housekeeping standards.

The role requires lifting up to 45 pounds, experience in manufacturing, and willingness to work overtime on short notice. You will work with crew members to maintain production schedules and ensure quality across all boxes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED.
• Lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience as a machine operator or assistant.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime on short notice.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures around machinery and forklift traffic.

Responsibilities

• Assist with machine set-up according to proper setup techniques.
• Monitor box quality and communicate issues to operator and helpers.
• Ensure finished boxes are properly stacked for unitizing/palletizing.
• Follow factory card instructions and supervisor directions.
• Maximize equipment utilization by assisting the operator to run at capacity.
• Assist training of helpers on the machine.
• Complete reports such as Production Data, Machine Status, Safety Data, Lean and Quality Data.
• Submit maintenance work orders for needed repairs.
• Be proactive in equipment maintenance and maintain housekeeping.
• Adhere to production schedule and suggest optimizations for cost, quality, and service.
• Report any scheduling issues to Supervisor and work with crew for efficiency.
• Switch duties as needed (operating, feeding, pulling, stacking, packing).
• Other duties may be assigned; regular attendance is required.
