Khepri Kitchen in Mount Prospect, IL is seeking a Front of House Shift Lead to manage front-of-house operations, craft beverages, and guest experiences. This full-time role offers cross-training in specialty coffee, cocktails, wine, and beer, with opportunities to mentor teammates and lead service during busy shifts.

Shifts run 10:30 AM–6:30 PM or 1:30 PM–9:30 PM, with weekend availability required and a strong emphasis on hospitality, training, and growth within a community-driven café.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality roles (barista, bartender, server) preferred.
• Strong hospitality mindset and guest-focused approach.
• Willingness to learn new skills and cross-train in coffee and beverage service.
• Excellent communication and multitasking abilities.
• Reliable, organized, and dependable.
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Illinois BASSET Certification or willingness to obtain (plus).

Responsibilities

• Lead front-of-house operations during the shift, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Prepare espresso beverages, teas, matcha, and seasonal creations.
• Learn and serve craft cocktails, wine, and local craft beer.
• Recommend menu items and beverages to guests to enhance their experience.
• Open and close the cafe, ensuring cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Process guest transactions using the POS system and assist with cash reconciliation.
• Restock products and merchandise, maintain an organized front-of-house area.
• Mentor team members and coordinate with kitchen for smooth service.
• Assist with catering, events, and community gatherings as needed.
