Job summary

Ventura’s Offshore Cafe in Northfield, NJ is seeking a FOH Food Server to join our high-volume team. This role delivers friendly, efficient service and requires liquor handling expertise.

In this on-site position, you will work with a busy bar program, use Toast POS, and provide attentive guest experiences, including nights, weekends and holidays. Minimum 5 years of serving experience and liquor knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of serving experience in a high-volume restaurant.
• Proven liquor serving experience and knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, cocktails.
• Experience with Toast POS is a plus.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities; able to work with others.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, present menus, and take liquor, wine, beer, and cocktail orders.
• Enter orders into Toast POS and ensure timely delivery of courses.
• Pre-bus tables, refill drinks, and ensure guests have what they need.
• Coordinate with bartenders, kitchen and bussers for smooth service.
• Process payments accurately and complete cash-out procedures.

Job Summary

Are you a high-energy, experienced hospitality professional? Ventura’s Offshore Cafe—a beloved, high-volume, family-owned Italian-American restaurant, bar, and liquor store in Northfield is looking for an experienced FOH Food Server to join our tight-knit team. In this role, you will deliver friendly, efficient, and exceptional service to our loyal guests. Because we feature a bustling bar and beverage program, prior liquor serving experience is required to ensure seamless beverage service at our tables.

Key Responsibilities

• Guest & Beverage Service: Greet guests warmly, present menus, and make accurate recommendations. Confidently take and serve liquor, wine, beer, and cocktail orders, adhering to all responsible alcohol service standards.
• Order Management: Accurately enter food and beverage orders into our Toast POS system and ensure timely delivery of courses.
• Table Maintenance: Pre-bus tables, refill drinks promptly, and ensure guests have everything they need for an outstanding dining experience.
• Collaboration: Coordinate closely with bartenders, kitchen staff, food runners, and bussers to maintain a smooth flow of service.
• Financial Accuracy: Process payments (cash and credit card) accurately and complete cash-out procedures at the end of each shift.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of serving experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment (Required).
• Proven liquor serving experience with strong working knowledge of spirits, classic cocktails, beer, wine, and responsible alcohol service (Required).
• Comfort using modern POS systems (experience with Toast is a major plus).
• Outstanding communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
• Flexibility to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
