Position Purpose
This person is responsible for preparing beverages for patrons and serving them at the bar or through the wait staff while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Greet bar guests and make guests waiting for tables feel welcomed and acknowledged.
- Prepare cocktails and coffee drinks (if no barista is present) for the dining room as ordered by servers and serve the bar guests.
- Ensure proper measurements of cocktail ingredients, especially signature cocktails.
- Use credit cards to open tabs that are not paid immediately.
- Enter all drinks correctly on checks.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of beers, wines by the glass, juices, and waters in bar refrigerators.
- Keep the bar appearance presentable throughout service.
- Complete the closing bar checklist before departure unless instructed otherwise.
- Perform cash drawer checkout after each shift and securely store cash payments.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar and front lounge area according to Health Department standards.
- Requisition and restock liquor, beer, and wine as needed.
- Ensure all ingredients and garnishes are available for beverage preparation.
- Report any issues (lighting, cooling units, etc.) to management immediately.
- Leave the bar and coffee station clean and stocked at shift end.
- Assist with delivery tablets and couriers as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of food, wine, and cocktail menus; attend educational sessions when available.
- Be an ambassador for the brand and its offerings.
Minimum Essential Requirements
- Ability to work collaboratively, follow directions, and work efficiently under pressure.
- Basic food handling, preparation, and cleaning skills are advantageous.
- Strong time management skills.
- Effective communication skills in English for safety and service quality.
- Active listening and quick learning abilities.
- Ability to read and speak English proficiently.
- Discipline to adhere to standards.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
