Job summary

Urbane Cafe is hiring a Bread Baker in California to craft fresh focaccia dough from scratch and bake in open-hearth ovens in view of guests. You’ll join a team that values quality, consistency and pride in every loaf.

You’ll mix, knead, proof, and bake daily, maintaining a clean kitchen and following recipes. Prior baking is a plus, but we provide training; tips supplement hourly pay to reward performance.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively with the team; bilingual a plus.
• Able to stand for extended periods while working in a kitchen.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and move around the kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Mix, knead and proof focaccia dough to perfection on every shift.
• Bake fresh bread in open-hearth ovens with consistency and pride.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen workspace.
• Follow recipes and portioning standards while bringing passion to the craft.
• Support the team to keep operations moving smoothly.
