Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking a Pilot Line Technician to actively support pilot-line operations and develop foam processing trials at the Tallmadge site. You will assist with setup, start-up, changeovers, and shutdowns, while following SOPs and safety guidelines to minimize downtime and protect personnel.

The role involves basic troubleshooting, data logging, material handling, and collaboration with engineers and technicians to execute trial plans and maintain equipment availability.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting safe operation of pilot plant or manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to follow SOPs, complete tasks, and escalate issues promptly.
• Hands-on troubleshooting and problem solving in mechanical/process areas.
• Commitment to safety procedures including PPE, LOTO, chemical handling.
• Willingness to learn new processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support safe day-to-day operation of pilot plant equipment including setup and shutdown.
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic troubleshooting to maintain availability.
• Monitor trials, identify abnormal operation, and assist with safe recovery actions.
• Follow trial instructions and communicate observations for repeatable execution.
• Operate pilot plant equipment under supervision following SOPs and safety rules.
• Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance and document work performed.
• Support sample handling, labeling, staging, and packaging for trials.
• Record operating conditions and material usage in logs or software.
• Support materials and inventory activities including receiving and labeling.
