Job summary

Rite-Hite Corporation in Milwaukee seeks a Director of Aviation to lead all aspects of the company’s aviation operations and serve as a flying director.

This senior role oversees strategy, regulatory compliance with FAA and international standards, budgeting, flight operations, and personnel management.

You will lead a team of 8-12, collaborate with executive leadership, coordinate with regulators, and ensure safe, cost-effective aviation services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate required.
• Minimum 15 years of aviation experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Corporate or military aviation experience preferred.
• Proven track record in managing complex aviation operations and leading high-performing teams.
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, safety management systems, and aviation best practices.
• Must be able to meet flexible work schedule expectations, including on-call availability, irregular hours, and travel as needed to support flight operations and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the aviation department (8-12 people) and flight operations.
• Develop and manage annual budget and strategic plan for aviation.
• Advise ownership and senior leadership on aircraft utilization and long-term strategy.
• Coordinate with FAA on Operations Specifications and Letters of Authorization.
• Ensure compliance with FAA and international aviation regulations and safety standards.
• Represent the company in negotiations with regulators, vendors, and industry partners.
