Job summary

Rite-Hite, a global leader in loading dock and door equipment, seeks a Director of Aviation to oversee all aviation operations and act as a flying director for the company. The role drives strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and financial oversight to ensure safety and top-tier service.

This senior position reports to the CFO and leads a team of 8–12, guiding training, schedules, and performance. Travel and on-call duties are expected as needed to support flight operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate required.
• Minimum 15 years of aviation experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in managing complex aviation operations and leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Leads aviation department (8-12 people) including pilots, maintenance personnel, and support staff.
• Develops and manages annual budget and multi-year plan with executive oversight.
• Ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining safety and service standards.
• Advise leadership on aircraft selection and long-term aviation strategy.
• Coordinate with FAA on Operations Specifications and regulatory matters.
• Lead modernization of aviation operations through technology and process improvements.
• Represent company in negotiations with vendors and regulatory agencies.
