Job summary

Cross Resource Group in Bastrop, Texas, is seeking skilled welders to support fabrication, assembly, repair, and modification of large-scale structures. Night shifts run 6:00 PM to 4:40 AM, four 10-hour shifts per week, with a 30-minute meal break.

The role requires reading blueprints and welding in all positions, including FCAW, with safety and quality as top priorities. The ideal candidate will have MIG/GMAW experience, be able to work outdoors in heavy construction areas, and pass the FCAW

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and weld symbols.
• Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Ability to weld in all positions and pass an FCAW weld test.

Job description

Support the fabrication, assembly, repair, and modification of large-scale structures and equipment. Daily responsibilities include reading blueprints and weld symbols, setting up welding equipment, completing welds in various positions, operating general shop equipment, and inspecting completed work to ensure it meets drawing specifications. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced production environment, takes pride in producing high-quality welds, and can work safely and efficiently on a night shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG (GMAW) welding.
• Communicate effectively with management, supervisors, and engineering staff.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and weld symbols.

• Ability to weld in all positions and successfully pass an FCAW weld test.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with MIG (GMAW) welding.
• Proficiency with power tools, including drills, saws, and pneumatic die grinders.
• Basic rigging skills.
• OSHA certification.
• Welding certifications.
• Experience with GMAW, GTAW, stainless steel, and hardfacing.
• Familiarity with various metal types and material thicknesses.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and/or at elevated heights.

Additional Requirements

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Ability to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors in heavy construction areas.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Work Schedule

• Night Shift: Monday–Thursday or Tuesday-Friday or Wednesday -Saturday or Thursday -Sunday
• Hours: 6:00 PM – 4:40 AM
• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Includes a 30-minute unpaid meal break
