Job summary

Tecomet, Inc. in Lansing, MI is seeking an Inspector to perform non-destructive testing using fluorescent penetrant inspection and ensure conformance to customer and national standards.

You will assess product acceptability, interpret results, and document findings, while maintaining confidentiality and adapting to changing schedules. Requirements include 2 years related experience or training, a high school diploma or GED, and familiarity with fluorescent penetrant inspection equipment.

• SNTC Level I or II preferred
• NAS 410 Level I or II preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs inspection procedures following customers’ specifications.
• Determines acceptability of product based on results of testing.
• Interprets results, and determines probable cause of defects.
• Performs daily system checks.
• Documents and publishes results of FPI testing.
• Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. And compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. And deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Work well under pressure and to remain flexible to changing schedules and demands.
• Additional duties as requested by management.

Position Summary

Performs non-destructive testing on products using fluorescent penetrant inspection as required to conform to customer and/or national standards, by performing the following duties. Credentials/Experience

Qualification Requirements

• 2 years related experience and/or training preferred
