Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a mechanical/aerospace engineer to design fluid subsystems for aerospace applications. You will own development, acceptance, and qualification testing, and work with components such as valves, regulators, and pressure vessels.

Proficiency in Creo and ANSYS is required, with GD&T expertise and strong testing capabilities. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, risk management, and delivery of well-documented analyses and drawings per ASME Y14.5 standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of professional engineering experience with complex fluid systems.
  • Experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle fluid system component design.
  • Experience with aircraft/spacecraft/launch vehicles in detail design of aerospace fluid systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and route complex fluid subsystems (pressurization, pneumatics, propellant utilization).
  • Create and own development, acceptance, and qualification test activities for hardware.
  • Work with fluid components (valves, regulators, vessels, instrumentation).
  • Coordinate cross-group integration and resolve issues while managing risk.
  • Utilize 3D CAD (Creo) and FEA (ANSYS) for designs and analyses.
  • Deliver designs per ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards with clear reports.
  • Coordinate test readiness, fixtures, materials procurement, and test setup.
  • Work independently to develop approaches and solutions.
