Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Design Engineer for the Fluid Systems Engineering team. You will participate in design, test, and development of new product concepts for production release, ensuring performance, durability and serviceability.

You will translate customer needs into detailed design, supporting build processes and component integration. Strong CAD experience and ability to iteratively improve designs based on analysis results are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on interest.
• CAD design experience using Creo, Pro/E, SolidWorks.

Responsibilities

• Prepares concept, design, development, and feasibility studies of complex engineering projects.
• Organizes and executes the building, testing, and analysis of prototypes.
• Assisting supply specialists and buyers with supplier development and supplier performance.
• Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating into detail design documents.
• Participating in buy-build analysis for product components.
• Participating in and supporting proposal preparation, and technical reports.
• Uses technical expertise and product knowledge to participate in problem resolution with Test and Evaluation, Service, Plant personnel, suppliers, and consultants.
