Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Illinois, Mossville, seeks a Dynamics Simulation-Associate Engineer within the Large Power Systems Division to advance core engine components design validation using multi-body dynamics.

You will execute simulations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, document objectives and results, interpret data for design improvements, and stay ahead with new simulation methods. Onsite work five days a week with travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Strong knowledge of dynamics and vibration analysis.
• Hands-on experience with torsional dynamics and engine vibrations.
• Experience with MBD and FEA tools.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Travel up to 10% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Execute Multi-Body Dynamics simulations across engine platforms.
• Define simulation requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Prepare documentation of objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
• Interpret results and recommend design improvements.
• Collaborate with engine test teams to improve tool capabilities.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and new simulation methods.
