Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Fluid Fill Systems Technical Specialist for the General Assembly Manufacturing Engineering team. The role focuses on designing and standardizing fluid fill equipment across centers, including brake evacuation and fill, radiator fill, and fuel fill, with global responsibility and travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with machinery and automated fluid-fill equipment.
  • Experience taking automated equipment from concept through supplier execution and launch.
  • Expert-level experience automating machinery to reduce labor and improve safety, quality, and throughput.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the design, development, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes for all fluid fill systems in General Assembly.
  • Benchmark world-class processes, develop BoE, and lead global expert team meetings.
  • Establish and maintain global fluid-fill strategies, standard work, equipment criteria, and Manufacturing Requirements.
  • Develop strategies to standardize fluid fill equipment across centers and meet future product requirements.
  • Lead feasibility studies and prototyping for new automation opportunities and methodologies.
  • Provide technical guidance to GMNA Assembly Plants and travel to plants up to 25%.
