Job summary

Richardson Durum Milling, a division of Richardson International, is seeking a Mill Operator at our St. Louis, MO milling location.

The role oversees the milling department’s operations, ensuring production targets, quality, and food safety compliance, with regular plant-floor presence. The ideal candidate has flour milling experience, a BS in Milling Science and Management or IAOM course, and strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Previous flour milling experience is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Milling Science and Management or IAOM Correspondence Course completion.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Comfortable using a computer and able to learn production software.
• Willing to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Directly oversees production outcomes, quantity, and quality to meet specifications and food safety requirements.
• Optimize operational efficiencies to support the facility’s production.
• Facilitate maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
• Ensure the mill is organized and clean at all times.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with regulations.
• Ensure SOPs, GMPs, OSHA and HACCP guidelines are followed at all times.
• Maintain documentation of activities and inventories in paper or electronic formats.
• Learn basic equipment maintenance to improve production reliability.
• Make recommendations for line efficiency and productivity improvements.
• Communicate with supervisors across departments and assist when needed.
• Role requires regular presence on the plant floor and lifting up to 50 lbs.
