Job summary

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking a Market Area Controller to lead financial performance across our Florida market footprint. You will partner with Area Presidents and operations to drive profitability and sustainable growth.

You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, coach a team of controllers, and translate financial data into actionable business decisions that improve efficiency and cost control across routes and sites.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong leadership experience with a track record of developing accounting and finance professionals.
• Deep experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and operational finance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary financial business partner to the Area President and market leadership.
• Lead, coach, and develop Senior District Controllers and District Controllers across the market area.
• Own budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, variance analysis, and financial performance for the Area.
• Translate financial results into clear, actionable insights for operational leaders.
• Lead financial reviews with Area and District leadership and drive accountability around results.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, operational trends, and KPIs to identify risks and opportunities.
• Partner with Operations to improve profitability, cost control, route efficiency, and resource allocation.
• Evaluate the financial impact of operational changes, new initiatives, and business decisions.
• Strengthen financial processes, reporting consistency, and internal controls across the Area.
• Partner across Operations, Sales, Finance, and other functions to solve problems and improve performance.
