FLOWERS.com Inc. is hiring a Floral Designer to transform customer preferences into finished arrangements. You will cut and arrange live flowers, create bouquets and specialty designs, and follow exact orders with color and timing guidance.

Work is production focused, with a required rate of 3–4 arrangements per hour. Responsibility includes accurate daily sheets and occasional supervision during busy floral holidays.

Qualifications

  • High school graduates encouraged to apply and learn floral arranging.
  • Formal or vocational floral design training is a plus.
  • Education in floriculture or horticulture is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Cut and arrange live flowers according to orders and specs.
  • Create bouquets, sprays, wreaths, dish gardens, terrariums, and more.
  • Follow written orders including occasions, color, and timing.
  • Produce standard and specialty floral designs.
  • Maintain company quality standards for arrangements.
  • Complete daily production sheets accurately.
  • Maintain production of 3–4 arrangements per hour.
  • Assist with plant care and dish gardens.
  • Support other departments as needed.
  • Supervise holiday make-up production when required.

Job description

The Floral Designer creates specialty bouquets and floral arrangements that meet customer needs while maintaining established 1-800-Flowers.com quality and production standards.

This position combines practical floral knowledge with artistic ability to transform customer preferences and design specifications into beautiful finished arrangements. Floral Designers create both standard recipe-based arrangements and specialty designs while ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely production.

Cut and arrange live flowers and foliage according to customer orders and established design specifications

Create bouquets, sprays, wreaths, dish gardens, terrariums, and other floral arrangements

Follow written orders that may include the occasion, customer color and flower preferences, price point, and required completion time

Create standard recipe-based arrangements as well as specialty floral designs

Produce arrangements according to established company quality standards

Complete daily production sheets accurately

Maintain a production standard of at least 3–4 arrangements per hour

Assist with maintaining plants and dish gardens

Support other departments when necessary

Floral holidays are among our busiest production periods. Candidates must:

Be available to work additional hours during peak floral holidays

Maintain flexibility to support holiday production schedules

Perform holiday make-up production as needed

Potentially supervise holiday make-up production when required

Skills & Qualifications

Creative ability and an eye for floral design

Ability to follow written customer orders and established floral recipes

Attention to detail and commitment to product quality

Ability to work efficiently while maintaining established production standards

Ability to work effectively in a production-focused environment

Flexibility to assist other areas when needed

Reliable attendance and availability during peak floral holidays

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for the entire shift, excluding scheduled lunch and break periods

Ability to regularly lift and/or move materials

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, including glassware, containers, baskets, and other materials used within the MDC

Education & Experience

High school graduates with an interest and ability in floral arranging and a desire to learn are encouraged to apply

Formal floral design training is an asset, but is not required

Vocational or technical training in floral design is beneficial

Education or coursework in floriculture, horticulture, floral design, ornamental horticulture, or a related area is also beneficial

The expected hourly rate for this position is $16.00-$20.00/hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
