KIT Custom HomeBuilders in Caldwell, Idaho seeks an experienced Production Supervisor for the Floors Department to lead the team building structural floor systems for manufactured homes. The role is hands-on on the factory floor, responsible for safety, quality, and productivity.

Ideal candidates have supervisory experience in construction or framing, strong reading of drawings, and the ability to manage schedules while promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience in manufacturing, production, framing, or construction.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in wood framing, structural floor assembly, residential construction, or a closely related field.
• Working knowledge of wood framing methods, construction measurements, and structural assembly techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, layouts, measurements, and specifications.
• Experience using and supervising the safe operation of saws, nail guns, hand tools, and power tools.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise employees and maintain production schedules and quality standards.
• Experience providing employee coaching, performance feedback, and corrective guidance.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to address employee concerns and workplace situations professionally and effectively.
• Dependable attendance and the ability to work required schedules and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities within the Floors Department.
• Oversee the construction and assembly of structural wood floor systems for manufactured homes.
• Ensure floor framing components are properly measured, cut, positioned, fastened, and assembled according to specifications.
• Monitor daily production schedules, output expectations, and department productivity.
• Assign work, establish priorities, and ensure employees have the materials, tools, and direction necessary to perform their duties.
• Identify and resolve production delays, material shortages, workflow issues, and equipment concerns.
• Coordinate with other departments to maintain efficient production flow.
• Assist with hands-on framing and production activities when operationally necessary.
• Verify that floor assemblies meet required measurements, layouts, and construction specifications.
• Ensure structural framing is square, level, properly aligned, and securely fastened.
• Monitor proper installation of floor framing components, including joists, blocking, supports, and subfloor materials as applicable.
• Identify framing defects, incorrect measurements, material issues, and workmanship concerns.
• Coordinate with Quality Control to address deficiencies and minimize rework.
• Ensure employees follow approved construction methods and quality standards.
• Promote efficient material usage and minimize unnecessary waste.
• Provide daily leadership, direction, coaching, and performance feedback to department employees.
• Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, productivity, and compliance with company policies.
• Address employee performance concerns promptly and professionally.
• Document attendance, performance, conduct, and operational concerns as required.
• Support consistent enforcement of company policies, procedures, and workplace expectations.
• Assist with new hire training, onboarding, mentoring, and employee development.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, respectful communication, and a productive work environment.
• Communicate department concerns and staffing needs to Production Management and HR.
• Ensure employees follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Monitor the safe operation of saws, nail guns, hand tools, power tools.
• Identify and promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, and workplace incidents.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Ensure materials and equipment are properly stored and work areas remain free of unnecessary hazards.
• Reinforce daily housekeeping expectations and department cleanup requirements.
• Coordinate with Safety and Maintenance when corrective action or equipment repairs are necessary.
