Job summary

MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas is seeking a Flooring Engineer to maintain and repair flooring across guest rooms, public areas, and operations. You will troubleshoot and restore carpeting, tile, and natural stone while supporting general engineering needs across the property.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support property-wide flooring maintenance: troubleshoot, repair, restore, replace carpet, tile, stone surfaces.
• Perform flooring repairs: carpet stretching, patching, seam repairs, tile replacement, grout, surface prep.
• Assist general Engineering maintenance: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems as needed.
• Coordinate flooring projects with departments to minimize guest disruption.

THE JOB:

As a Flooring Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and presentation of the property's diverse flooring surfaces, including carpeting, tile, and natural stone. While supporting general Engineering needs across the property, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems, your primary focus will be troubleshooting, repairing, restoring, and replacing flooring to ensure guest rooms, public areas, and operational departments remain safe, functional, and welcoming.

THE STARTING RATE:

$39.14

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Support property-wide flooring maintenance by troubleshooting, repairing, restoring, and replacing various flooring materials, including commercial carpet, ceramic and porcelain tile, natural stone, and other flooring surfaces


• Perform specialized flooring repairs, including carpet stretching, patching, seam repairs, tile replacement, grouting, and surface preparation to maintain property safety and presentation


• Maintain awareness and support general Engineering maintenance and repairs as needed, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical systems, and other building maintenance needs


• Collaborate with departments throughout the property to coordinate flooring projects, prioritize maintenance requests, and minimize disruptions to guests and daily operations

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Must be a minimum of 21 years of age


• Has prior facilities maintenance or engineering experience in a hotel, resort, commercial property, or industrial facility


• Has hands-on experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing flooring, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general building systems and fixtures
