Job summary

Platinum Cleaning & Facility Services (PCFS), a division of Healthcare Services Group, Inc., is hiring a Floor Technician to oversee janitorial cleaning and facilities maintenance at a school site. You will perform flooring tasks including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, stripping, waxing, carpet shampooing, and responding to cleaning needs.

Responsibilities include creating cleaning schedules with management, operating floor equipment, and ensuring a safe, clean environment for students

Qualifications

• Be able to adapt and work as a team to ensure daily tasks and work orders are completed on time.
• Be polite and respectful with clients, guests, and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Machine scrub floors.
• Strip and wax floors.
• Spot cleaning and full carpet extraction/shampoo.
• Project work such as cleaning lights, lamps, window washing, etc.
• Assist with work orders as needed.
• Cover additional cleaning tasks when employees call off.
• Clean stairwells, signage, etc.
• Assist with checking classrooms and common areas.
• Clean elevators and landing areas.
• Use miscellaneous flooring equipment as needed.

Floor Technicians perform day-to-day cleaning tasks related to flooring in common areas and classrooms. Overall duties will include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, buffing, stripping, waxing, carpet shampooing and extracting, and responding to all cleaning emergencies. Evening Floor Technicians must be organized, dedicated, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously. You will work with management to create an effective cleaning schedule, which will include your day-to-day routines and work timetable.

Experience

Some experience is preferred. Ability to learn how to operate heavy equipment such as floor scrubber, buffer, etc.

Education

Must be 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift items of up to 35 lbs while moving around and performing other physical duties (i.e., climb ladder, lifting, bending).
• Ability to spend up to 100% of the working time standing and walking.
