Job summary

Chimes is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain floors and facilities at the Pentagon area. This on-site role runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, ensuring adherence to contract specs, safety procedures, and security requirements.

You will strip, seal, wax, buff, and burnish floors; clean carpets; operate floor care equipment; manage chemicals safely; and assist with general custodial duties while reporting issues and supporting inventory efforts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Six months of floor technician or custodial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of floor care equipment and floor maintenance techniques is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly (75–100 lbs. with assistance).
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Strip, seal, wax, buff, and burnish hard floors.
• Clean carpets using extractors and spot-cleaning equipment.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain assigned areas.
• Operate floor care equipment, including scrubbers, buffers, burnishers, extractors, and ride-on machines.
• Mix and use cleaning chemicals safely and properly.
• Move furniture as needed to complete floor care.
• Perform equipment inspections, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
• Remove trash when required.
