Job summary

OnPoint Building Services in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Floor Technician to clean floors in offices and facilities. Schedule: Mon-Fri 4pm4am12am. A clean background check and the ability to pass a drug screen are required; 1+ year of floor technician experience preferred.

You will buff, strip, wax, and carpet-clean, operate floor equipment, and follow safety guidelines. Must have a valid driver1 license with reliable transportation and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• 1+ years floor technician experience preferred.
• Knowledge of floor care equipment, products, techniques.
• Experience with a truck mount preferred but not required.
• Floor technician certification preferred but not required.
• Criminal background check required.
• Valid state drivers license with clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation to job location.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care including buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning.
• Strip, scrub, rinse, refinish tiled floors.
• Vacuum and spot clean carpets.
• Operate floor cleaning/finishing equipment.
• Label, dilute, and use chemicals properly.
• Report repairs and safety hazards.
• Meet attendance expectations with consistency.
• Assist in other cleaning/coverage as needed.
• Ensure completion of floor tasks on schedule.
• Follow safety guidelines and quality standards.

Job Skills / Requirements

General Purpose:

Ensuring all floor surfaces are properly cleaned in commercial offices, buildings, and churches. You will need a clean background check and the ability to pass a drug screen.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform proper techniques of floor care and preparation of all areas to be cleaned, buffed, stripped or waxed as well as carpet cleaning.
• Strip, scrub, sweep, refinish, and buff all tiled floor areas, utilizing the proper equipment and procedures.
• Vacuum and spot clean all carpets throughout the facility.
• Operate all floor cleaning/ finishing equipment to include but not limited to buffers, water extractors and carpet cleaning equipment.
• Perform the proper labeling, dilution and use of chemicals.
• Report need repairs and safety hazards.
• Must be able to meet attendance work schedules with dependability and consistency.
• Perform other routine maintenance duties as assigned.
• Assist in other areas of cleaning/coverage as needed and or directed.
• Ensure timely completion of assigned floor responsibilities according to schedule.
• Follow safety guidelines, quality standards, and ensures customer service expectations are met.

Qualifications/Education/Work Experience:

• 1+ years previous Floor Technician experience preferred
• Must possess knowledge of floor care equipment, products, techniques, and standards.
• Experience with a truck mount is preferred but not required.
• Floor Technician certification is preferred but not required.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Must have valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must have reliable transportation to job location.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Must have good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Must possess the ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires bending, twisting, lifting (up to 25 pounds), stretching, reaching, and standing for extended periods of time.
