UMC Health System is seeking a Floor Care Technician to support Infection Control and Prevention by cleaning and sanitizing hospital floors, corridors, and assigned campuses. The role reports to the Supervisor, Environmental Services and emphasizes a safe, comfortable patient environment.
Daily duties include maintaining floors and carpets, cleaning utility rooms and common areas, assisting with linen distribution, and performing light maintenance.

The Floor Care Technician focuses on Infection Control and Prevention by providing proper cleaning and sanitation throughout the hospital and assigned site campuses.
Reports to: Supervisor, Environmental Services.
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:

This position requires close interaction with medical staff and ancillary areas in order to facilitate a quality multi-disciplinary approach to patient care and safety.
Requires wear or personal protective equipment (PPE); Ability to lift/move various types of equipment, supplies/chemicals, and furniture of medium weight. Work requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting and stretching.
This position is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental changes that may include varying temperatures. Exposure to chemicals used in cleaning supplies and blood/ blood borne pathogens is high risk.
