University Health is seeking a floor care technician to maintain clean and orderly facilities. You will perform general floor cleaning duties and respond to emergencies as needed, following Joint Commission and Texas Department of Health guidelines.
You will report defects to Plant Engineering, use MSDS-guided procedures for chemicals, and help with disposal and spill response while maintaining professional guest relations.
Carries out general floor care activities essential to keeping University Health facilities clean and orderly. All work will be done in accordance with Joint Commission and Texas Department of Health guidelines. Promptly and efficiently performs assigned duties and accepts emergency reassignments. Reports all maintenance defects to Plant Engineering Department. Uses equipment and supplies as directed and follows all the instructions listed on Material Safety Data Sheets. Identify and report all chemical/solution spills and discarded needles/syringes. Assist the Team Leader in clean up and disposals as required. Complies with University Health and departmental policies and regulations. Maintains good interpersonal and guest relation skills.
High school diploma or equivalent experience required. Completion of work-related on-the-job vocational training is preferred. Four years of previous floor care experience is preferred. Ability to operate floor cleaning equipment required.
