Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL is seeking Environmental Services staff for evening or night shifts to maintain clean, safe facilities across the campus. You will strip, wax, clean floors, dust and mop, and support infection control practices while working as part of a large health care team.

Responsibilities include using proper chemical handling, maintaining equipment, and assisting with linen transport and general cleaning duties on a hospital-wide basis.

Qualifications

• High School or GED preferred.
• Must have floor care, linen, or industrial/hotel or health care facility experience.
• Ability to follow safety and infection control guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Strips, waxes & maintains tile floors throughout the medical center.
• Cleans corners and baseboards when stripping floors.
• Keeps janitor closets clean and stores equipment properly.
• Uses chemicals correctly and maintains supplies economically.
• Performs dusting, damp mopping and burnishing/buffing as needed.
• Transports soiled linen and handles waste following infection control policies.
• Assists with loading/unloading linen and reports equipment malfunctions.

Responsible for economical use of supply as controlled through distribution.Demonstrates knowledge of hard surface floor care, and carpet. Dust, damp mopping and burnishing/buffing as evident on observation.Accepts special cleaning assignments and completes promptly and thoroughly. As evident by adhere meeting hospital and departmental needs.Attends and participates in monthly department staff meetings staff development programs when scheduled. Is responsible for all information communicated at the meetings.Demonstrates efficient use of time as evident by completion of projects that are assigned.
