Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach is seeking an Environmental Services professional to support hospital cleanliness and patient safety across multiple units. Responsibilities include cleaning, disinfecting patient areas, proper chemical handling, and maintaining infection control practices as part of daily operations.
The role requires a High School diploma or GED and prior housekeeping or healthcare-related experience is preferred.

Position Responsibilities Spots cleans and damps wipe walls, windowsills, overhead lights as required daily. Dusts mops, and damps mops floors, corners and edges paying special attention to the base boards and using the appropriate solutions as evident on observations. Demonstrates upon patient discharge sanitation and disinfecting of bed, controls, motors, mattress, etc. Demonstrates knowledge of correct use and appropriate dilution of chemicals. Responsible for economical use of supply as controlled through distribution. Keep labels on the chemicals. Demonstrates knowledge of proper cleaning and disinfecting of patient care units by following 7 steps cleaning procedures. Cleans and disinfects public areas, pantries, waiting areas, utility rooms within assigned areas. Demonstrates knowledge of hard surface floor care, dust, damp mopping and burnishing/buffing as evident on observation. Communicates and works with floor tech that to maintain floor shine’s with any information. Demonstrates knowledge of carpet care such as vacuuming, spot cleaning, and bonneting. Attends and participates in monthly department staff meetings staff development programs when scheduled. Is responsible for all information communicated at the meetings. Completes all daily work assignments and area check sheet and beepers completed with explanation of incomplete assignments. Follows Bed Tracking Procedures when cleaning discharge rooms. Loads carts to part level and records information. Counts returns from previous delivery and records information. Delivers clean linen carts to the floors as schedule or assigned. Assures all linen carts are clean and covered at all times. Maintains telephone log, record linen and service requests. Adheres to the clean distribution schedule and collect solid linen as schedule daily. Transports soiled linen directly to soiled linen area. Transports soiled linen using universal precautions, and covered at all times. Properly follows all infection control guidelines. Assists Laundry provider with loading and unloading clean and soiled linen carts. Follows hand washing procedures performed after removal of gloves and prior to handling clean linen.

Education High School diploma or GED preferred.
Experience Some experience in housekeeping, linen maintenance or industrial/hotel or healthcare experience strongly preferred.
