Job summary

NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center in Columbia, TN is seeking a Floor Technician to maintain and clean all flooring assets across the building. The role includes daily dust mopping, routine scrubbing, carpet upkeep, and periodic stripping, waxing, and buffing of floors while following safety guidelines.

Experience with floor care equipment and ability to read manuals is needed, plus a practical approach to caring for various flooring surfaces and coordinating with housekeeping teams.

Qualifications

High school graduate or technical school graduate.
Ability to read and interpret manuals. Knowledge of safety regulations.
Knowledge of supplies and equipment used by department and the care of this equipment.
Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients.

Responsibilities

Maintain flooring throughout the building on daily, quarterly and yearly schedules.
Maintain and check halls daily for dust mopping; spot mop when busy with other tasks.
Scrub halls 3-4 times a week with an automatic scrubber for VCT or laminate.
Vacuum carpet daily where needed.
Strip, wax and buff VCT as needed.
Carpet will be cleaned by outside company yearly; spot clean as needed.
All utilities cleaned with scrubber quarterly; walls cleaned and disinfected as needed.
Responsible for trash twice daily (A.M. and P.M.).
Clean trash cans monthly or as needed in utility rooms.
Clean all shower rooms with automatic scrubber monthly, including walls.

Position: Floor Technician

Pay: $12 - $15 / hour Depending On Experience

Position Highlights

Maintain the flooring throughout the entire building: daily, quarterly and yearly.
Maintain and check halls on daily basis for dust mopping. Spot mop when busy with other specific jobs.
Scrub halls 3-4 times a week with automatic scrubber (vct flooring or laminate).
Vacuum carpet every day. (If needed in certain area daily)
Strip, wax and buff vct as needed.
Carpet will be cleaned by outside company yearly and we will spot clean as needed.
All utilities will be cleaned with scrubber quarterly, walls cleaned and disinfected and more if needed.
Responsibility for all trash x 2 daily (A.M. and P.M.)
Clean trash cans out monthly or as needed in utility rooms.
Clean all shower rooms with automatic scrubber on monthly basis, to include walls.
