Job summary

HES is a premier national provider of facilities management services focusing on educational institutions. We are seeking a reliable Floor Technician to maintain clean, safe floors in facilities in Salem, VA.

The role involves carpet cleaning, scrubbing, sealing, waxing, and operating floor buffers and burnishers, with emphasis on safety and teamwork. A high school diploma is preferred and prior floor tech experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
• Excellent work history and team-focused attitude.
• High school degree preferred.
• Previous floor tech experience preferred.
• Able to operate and maintain floor cleaning/finishing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpet cleaning, scrubbing, sealing, waxing, and spray buffing of floor surfaces.
• Operate high- and low-speed floor buffers up to 24 inches and 3000 RPM propane burnishing equipment.
• Follow safety precautions and maintain equipment.
• Work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Reliable transportation.

Performs the following duties: carpet cleaning (bonnet and extraction), scrubbing, stripping, sealing, waxing, and spray buffing had surface floors.Must be able to operate high and low speed buffers up to 24 inch and 3000 RPM propane burnishing equipment.Follow established safety precautions.Must be able to operate and maintain all floor cleaning/finishing equipment to include but not limited to floor buffer/burnishes, water extraction machine, and carpet cleaning equipment.Follow established safety precautions for cleaning and maintaining all areas of the facility.Job Requirements:Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.Excellent work historyTeam focused approach requiring ability to work with others and take directionPhysically demanding fast-paced environment requiring ability to work efficiently with attention to detailReliable transportationEducation: High school degree preferred, but not required.Experience: Previous floor tech experience preferred.
