Job summary

Reunion Plaza Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Tyler, TX is seeking a Floor Tech to maintain a clean, safe, sanitary environment for residents, staff and visitors. The role performs routine cleaning in rooms, hallways, dining areas and common spaces daily.

Strong reading and written instruction skills, ability to work independently or in a team, and a resident-focused attitude are essential. Healthcare housekeeping experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided.

Job Details: Job Location: Reunion Plaza Healthcare & Rehabilitation - Tyler, TX 75703, Job Shift: Day, The Floor Tech is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position performs routine cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the facility in accordance with federal, state, and facility guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, offices, dining areas, and common areas daily.
• Dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, and polish floors and furniture.
• Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, showers, tubs, and other restroom fixtures.
• Scrubbing Floors and shampooing
• Empty trash containers and dispose of waste properly.
• Replenish paper products, soap, and other housekeeping supplies.
• Clean windows, mirrors, walls, doors, and other surfaces as assigned.
• Follow infection control procedures and safety regulations.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
• Assist with room preparation for new admissions and resident transfers.
• Respond promptly to spills and emergency cleaning situations.
• Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Participate in facility training programs and staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Administrator.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare facility preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work around cleaning chemicals and follow safety guidelines.

Working Conditions

• Long-term care and skilled nursing facility environment.
• Frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and bodily fluids.
