Job summary

Lakeshore Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable Porter/Floor Tech in Slidell, LA. The role involves cleaning and waxing floors, performing routine maintenance, and assisting the Maintenance Supervisor with repairs. You’ll help keep logs, follow safety and infection control procedures, and support other departments as needed.

Pay is $13.50 per hour. This full-time position follows a 4-on/2-off rotation and includes working every other weekend.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Must relate positively and cooperatively with residents, families, and associates.
• Must meet local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam if required; includes background check and references.
• Related experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
• Experience cleaning and waxing floors.

Responsibilities

• Clean and wax floors.
• Make rounds, assess and perform minor repairs; assist Maintenance Supervisor with larger repairs.
• Record facility logs (water temp, call lights, generator and fire alarms) and conduct preventative maintenance.
• Assist in training new associates and cover Maintenance Dept in supervisor's absence.
• Coordinate with other departments and inform supervisor of supply/repair needs.
• Follow safety and infection control procedures and use equipment properly.

Schedule: 4 on 2 off rotation schedule

Schedule: Full-time, working every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and waxing floors
• Make rounds, assess, and make minor repairs. Assist Maintenance Supervisor with large repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance as assigned to include but not be limited to facility logs such as water temperature, call lights, generator and fire alarms.
• May assist in training of new associates. May be responsible for Maintenance Department in the absence of the supervisor.
• Ensure work schedules are followed and coordinate services with other departments. Advise supervisor of supply and/or repair needs.
• Comply with Company policies involving all safety and infection control procedures to include the proper use of mechanical lifts, gait belts and personal protective back supports
