Job summary

Avir Health Group in San Antonio, TX is hiring a Floor Tech to maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of all floors in our facility. You will perform routine and restorative floor care, including stripping, waxing, buffing, scrubbing, and refinishing surfaces to keep areas sanitary and welcoming for residents and staff.

The role requires physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and move throughout shifts, and follow infection control procedures with cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor care, environmental services, or housekeeping preferred.
• Ability to operate floor cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
• Healthcare or nursing home experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and restorative floor care including stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, and refinishing hard floors.
• Clean and maintain carpeted areas with extraction and spot-cleaning techniques.
• Operate and maintain floor care equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow infection control procedures and safety guidelines with chemicals.
• Maintain equipment and report repairs promptly.
• Ensure floors are clean, dry, and hazard-free to protect residents and staff.
• Support general housekeeping as needed and respond to spills and special projects.
• Collaborate with all departments to keep the facility clean and welcoming.

We are searching for a Floor Tech who is resident and family-focused, a team builder, and excited about the opportunity to assist in building a positive facility culture. The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of all hard floor and carpeted surfaces throughout the facility. This role is responsible for performing routine and restorative floor care while ensuring a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. • Clean and maintain carpeted areas using extraction and spot-cleaning equipment.

• Operate and maintain floor care equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

• Follow infection control procedures and all safety guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals.

• Maintain assigned equipment and report repair needs promptly.

• Ensure floors remain clean, dry, and free of hazards to promote resident and employee safety.

• Assist with general housekeeping duties as needed.

• Respond promptly to spills, emergency clean-up needs, and special floor care projects.

• Work collaboratively with all departments to maintain a clean, attractive, and welcoming facility.

Qualifications for Floor Tech:

• Previous experience in floor care, environmental services, or housekeeping preferred.

• Experience operating commercial floor care equipment preferred.

• Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Previous nursing home or healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
