Job summary

Ashford Gardens in Houston, TX is hiring a full-time Floor Tech to perform scheduled floor care tasks and support housekeeping operations at the skilled nursing facility.

The role involves mopping, sweeping, dusting, washing windows, shampooing and vacuuming carpets, and arranging furniture while maintaining a safe, clean environment for residents and staff. Training and PPE are provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in floor care.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping is helpful.
• Experience using floor-care equipment is helpful.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all floor surfaces.
• Buffs and waxes floors, strips and waxes floors, top scrubs and waxes floors.
• Extracts and vacuums carpets as directed by Supervisor.
• Uses proper chemicals and equipment.
• Reports repair needs to Supervisor or maintenance department as appropriate.
• Requests needed supplies and equipment from Supervisor.
• Identifies and corrects safety hazards and abides by safety rules.
• Understands company policy on abuse prevention and enforces it.
• Attends weekly in-services and complies with Patient Care Management Systems.
• Ensures patient/resident safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The overall purpose of the Floor Technician position is to perform scheduled floor care tasks as may be assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor. This position may also mop, sweep, dust, wash windows, shampoo and vacuum carpets, arrange furniture, etc. and generally clean furniture, equipment, fixtures and hardware.
